Case Manager
Corey joined Edwards Group in 2025 as a case manager, working directly with clients and families who have lost loved ones. Before joining our team, she spent 19 years at Shay & Associates Law Firm as Senior Paralegal to Timothy Shay, gaining extensive experience in workers’ compensation, personal injury, and medical malpractice. In that role, she managed cases from start to finish and often opened estates and guardianships, as well as prepared simple wills and powers of attorney for healthcare and property.
Corey has always felt that her purpose in life is to help others, and she holds herself to a high standard when serving clients who are grieving. She understands that they need not only legal guidance, but also someone to listen and offer support. Corey sees those same values lived out at Edwards Group and appreciates the way the team goes to great lengths to care for each client’s needs. One of the most meaningful parts of her work is hearing the sigh of relief from a client who realizes they don’t have to face the loss of a loved one alone.
Born in Huntington Beach, California, and raised in Springfield, Illinois, Corey is both an Illini and Cardinals fan. She is also a volunteer and supporter of Wreaths Across America each year and is a member of the Springfield Ski & Boat Club.
When Corey is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her spouse, stepson, stepdaughter, and their fur baby, as well as boating, camping, and time with family and friends.
