Doug joined Edwards Group in May 2026 as Chief Operating Officer, bringing with him a diverse and accomplished professional background that makes him a natural fit for the team. With experience spanning business coaching, collegiate-level leadership, the contractor industry, and marketing, Doug’s career reflects the kind of versatility and dedication that Edwards Group is built on.
Born in Southern Illinois, Doug made Springfield home in 1989 and has been part of the community ever since. He holds a Bachelor of Business degree with a minor in Marketing from Robert Morris University. Over the course of his career, he has served as a collegiate-level director, a general manager in the contractor industry, and a vice president of marketing — in addition to his work in business coaching.
What drew Doug to Edwards Group was something he rarely encountered in his professional life: a team that genuinely embraces its clients. He was struck by the caring nature of the firm’s services — a quality that you don’t see very often — and by the exceptional attention to detail and unwavering commitment to doing the right thing. It was that combination of compassion and integrity that made the decision to join the team an easy one.
Outside of work, Doug is a man of many passions. He is a founding member of the band Mr. Oppornknockity, and over the years he has received several national awards, been deputized by the Secret Service, driven in a presidential motorcade, and been recognized as one of Springfield’s 40 Under 40. Doug is forever grateful for the support of his wife, Kaylee, their two children, Kasandra and Kaden, and their dog, Dax. The family enjoys spending time together through sports, music, and travel.
