ELDER CARE

Assistance With Nursing Home Costs

Using a government benefit such as Medicaid is a fairly common way to pay for long-term care. According to AARP, 65% of nursing home residents use Medicaid to pay for their care. Unfortunately, there is a lot of misinformation out there, which makes this very stressful time of life even harder for everyone involved.

Affording Nursing Home Care with Help from Medicaid

One of the biggest concerns is often “how do we pay for it?”  Nursing homes are expensive, often $10,000 per month or more.  For many families, that cost will eat up their savings within a short time.  Medicaid benefits are one option that can be used to pay for care and protect some of your wealth.

Protecting Assets from Nursing Home Costs

If your family is faced with nursing home care and are paying out of pocket, we may be able to help.  We have many legal planning tools available to maximize benefits and protect the family’s wealth, while still getting good care for the loved one.  Some families are surprised that we may be able to get a loved one to qualify for Medicaid benefits sooner than expected while protecting assets in the process.

If you need to speak to someone right away about your current situation, feel free to call us at 217-726-9200 or email us at  info@EdwardsGroupLLC.com. One of our Client Coordinators will be happy to help you.

FREE Medicaid Planning Guide

Is your spouse, parent or loved one in a nursing home and you’re worried about running out of money?

In order to meet the skyrocketing costs of nursing home care, an area of law known as Medicaid Planning has developed.

Unfortunately, a lot of families who could benefit from this program are told by nursing home employees, and even attorneys, that nothing can be done to protect assets like the family farm or other assets people work their entire lives to provide for their families.

With so much misinformation and flat out wrong information out there, we decided to offer a 3-part Medicaid Planning e-course.

This online course will be emailed to you every couple of days. It will address important information about Medicaid Planning and what you need to make sure your loved one gets the care they deserve without having to go destitute in the process.

What is Lorem Ipsum?

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries,

Why do we use it?

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English.

Where does it come from?

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source.

Where can I get some?

There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don’t look even slightly believable.
